Mechanical Integrity Engineer

EEI is currently seeking a talented and motivated mechanical integrity engineer with a desire to travel. The successful candidate will perform engineering evaluations of mechanical equipment including pressure vessels, storage tanks, and various piping systems. The evaluations include developing non-destructive testing requirements, supervision of examinations, interpretation of results, completing condition assessments, and providing repair recommendations where necessary. The evaluations will be in accordance with various American Petroleum Institute, ASME, and other industry and military standards. The evaluations will take place throughout the US and worldwide.

Duties will include the following, and will depend on your background and capabilities:

  • Preparation of technical specifications and design calculations
  • Coordination of project assignments with other project teams
  • Engineering, design, and drafting services in your area of expertise
  • Metallurgical assessment of corrosion and other damage mechanisms
  • Fitness-For-Service assessments on tanks, pressure vessels, piping, and pipelines
  • Preparation of Integrity Management Plans
  • Completing risk-bases inspection programs

The position may require at least 50% travel throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. Travel may be for extended periods of up to five weeks, but will generally be a shorter duration. Your ability to travel independently is a requirement of the position.


  • US Citizen, with the ability to obtain a military security clearance is required
  • Degree in engineering
  • 0 – 10 years of experience
  • Ability to function in an industrial environment, including physical activity in a variety of environments
  • Background in finite element analysis would be an asset
  • Familiarity with ultrasonic, eddy current, and other flaw detection methods is desired
  • Preference will be given to applicants with API certifications
  • Preference will be give to applicants who wish to work from our Falmouth, Maine office
