Structural Engineer

EEI has an immediate opening for a structural engineer in our Anchorage, Alaska office or Falmouth, Maine office. In this role you will design steel framed and reinforced concrete buildings and structures, foundations, supports for industrial equipment and piping systems, inspect and evaluate fuel storage tanks, and prepare project drawings and specifications for construction. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, energetic, and enjoys working with teams.

Requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in structural engineering
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in design of reinforced concrete and steel structures
  • Ability to obtain US Military Security Clearance for executive order and government contracts
  • Ability and desire to travel periodically to project locations in the U.S. and overseas
  • Proficient in preparing plans and technical specifications for construction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of IBC, ACI, and AISC codes and standards
  • Experience working in a consulting engineering company

The following qualifications are desirable and will receive extra consideration:

  • Experience in petroleum fuel storage tank design, evaluation, and repair
  • Experience designing wood framed buildings and pre-engineered metal buildings
  • Working knowledge of API 650 and API 653
  • Current API 653 Certification
  • Experience designing military projects
  • Experience using AutoCAD, STAAD, and Enercalc software
