Upgrade Jet Fuel Receipt Pipeline to Higher Pressure Class

EEI designed repairs and upgrades to the Department of Defense’s 13-mile cross country receipt pipeline to double throughput of the 50+ year old pipeline, including upgrading and requalifying the pipeline to Class 300. The full design, intended for design-bid-build construction contracting, included detailed drawings, specifications, and government programming documents. The project included modifications to valve stations, pig launchers, 37 underground repairs based on internal inspection findings, and a relief/breakout system to mitigate hydraulic pressure surges. EEI worked closely with federal, state, and local agencies to define construction requirements for excavations within potential PFAS- or petroleum-contaminated locations. EEI also provided construction inspections and hydrostatic testing oversight.
