Project’s highlights

Fast-track repair project to design the floor replacement for two 125,000-barrel aboveground fuel storage tanks that also included complex repairs for replacing the internal floating pan and roof framing modifications. The Air Force had an urgent need to return these tanks to service to meet critical mission requirements, so EEI worked with stakeholders to develop a repair approach that reduced construction time and avoided the need to remove the original floor and excavate soils which potentially contained Unexploded Ordinance (UXOs). Roof repairs were also required due to corrosion of roof patch plates, manhole covers, rim angle, and vents. EEI also performed a computational stress analysis of tank piping which identified the need for additional pipe anchoring.
