In-Line Inspection of Cross-Country Jet Fuel Pipeline

This project showcases EEI’s ability to plan and execute In-Line Inspections (ILI), also known as “smart pigging”, to assess pipeline integrity, as well as interpreting the findings and designing repairs to allow for continued safe and environmentally compliant operation.. The inspection effort involved cleaning, inspecting, and mapping of the 13-mile-long receipt pipeline to identify and locate required repairs, using geometry/mapping, MFL, and UT technologies. EEI also performed excavations for hands-on inspection of select anomalies to validate the findings from the inspection tools. This project covered the full spectrum of investigation, analysis, and design development to meet both mission critical and complex regulatory requirements regarding underground DoD off-base pipeline operation.
