Project’s highlights

EEI designed repairs to five different sections of the 17-mile NAVSUP FLC San Diego fuel pipeline that runs between Naval Base Point Loma and MCAS Miramar that was originally built in 1954. The design effort spanned over 2-1/2 years and required extensive coordination with local, state, and federal government agencies. EEI provided overall management of the engineering team, and provided civil, mechanical fuels, and structural engineering design services. The design allowed for continuous resupply of MCAS Miramar with minimal downtime for pipeline tie-in.

EEI provided full-time on-site construction contract support (Title II) services for the project which included supporting the NAVFAC SW FEAD Construction Manager in all field construction management, quality management, change control, claims prevention, inspection, and contract administration through construction completion and commissioning.
