Tank Inspections

EEI cleaned and inspected two 100,000 Bbl aboveground storage tanks, including an enhanced survey of the concrete containment systems, at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. Also included were the in-service inspections of fifteen aboveground storage tanks. The inspections were done in accordance with API 653 and the scope of work. The inspection and pressure testing of the tank piping was done in accordance with API 570 and military criteria. Following the out-of-service inspections, EEI developed a full repair design package including drawings, specifications, basis of design, as well as a cost estimate to return the tanks to service for a full 20-year operating life. EEI originally designed the two 100,000 Bbl tanks in 2000.
